Junji Yamagami: Condoctor
山上　純司：指揮者

Junji Yamagami, born in Mito city in 1960, graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts andMusic in the
Conducting Couse and completed master’s degree in the graduate course of the above.
He studied conducting under Yasuhiko Shiozawa, Masahisa Endo, Akeo Watanabe, and Victor Feldbrill.
He had taught at Sakuyo College of Music since he was in the second year of the master course of the university
and he took charge of the orchestra，Wind Ensemble and its conducting. He worked as full-time lecturer and assistant
professor until March in 1994.
　１９６０年水戸市生まれ。東京藝術大学音楽学部指揮科卒業。同大学院音楽研究科指揮専攻前期修士課程修了。
指揮を汐澤安彦、遠藤雅古、渡邉曉雄、ヴィクタ－・フェルドブリル各氏のもとで学ぶ。大学院２年次より作陽
音楽大学に勤務、オ－ケストラ、吹奏楽及び指揮法を担当。１９９４年３月まで専任講師、助教授を務めた。

He had studied abroad for two years at Hochschule für Musik Detmold in northwestern Germany since 1990.
He mainly studied conducting for operas under Prof. Karl‐ Heinz Bloemeke, and Prof. Peter Jocoby.
He also studied under Moshe Atzmon, Gary Bertini, Michael Gielen and Miklos Erdelyi. During the time he studied in
Germany, he went on the stage of regular concerts of Filarmonica de Stat Oradea of Romania, The West Bohemian
Symphony Orchestra of Czech Republic, Filharmonia Sudecka of Poland and so on.
In Germany,he also conducted the performance of Offenbach’s operetta “Croquefer”.
１９９０年より２年間北西ドイツ音楽アカデミ－・デトモルト音楽大学に留学。カ－ル・ハインツ・ブレメケ、ペ－タ－
・ヤコビー教授らのクラスで、主にオペラの指揮を学ぶ。また、モ－シェ・アツモン、ガリ－・ベルティ－ニ、ミヒャエ
ル・ギ－レン、ミクロ－シュ・エルディリ－各氏からも指導を受ける。留学中より、ル－マニア国立オラディア
フィルハ－モニ－交響楽団、チェコの西ボヘミア交響楽団、ポ－ランドのフィルハ－モニア・ズデッカ等の定期演奏会に
出演。またドイツではオッフェンバックのオペレッタ「CROQUEFER」の公演を指揮した。

In Japan, he conducted Gunma Symphony Orchestra, Chiba Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra,
Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Ensemble
Kanazawa, Okayama Philharmonic Orchestra, Seto Philharmonic Orchestra, Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra, Sapporo
Symphony Orchestra and so on. In the field of opera, he directed “Le nozze di Figaro”, “Cosi Fan Tutte”, “DieZauberflöte”,
“La Traviata” “Rigoletto”, “Aida”, “La Bohème,” “Madame Butterfly” , “Turandot”, “Carmen”, “Die Fledermaus”,“Onbashira”
and so on. In the field of ballet, he conducted “Swan Lake”, “The Nutcracker”, “Don Quixote” and so on.
He went on the stage of the new National Theater with Haydn’s opera “L’Isola disabitata”for the first time in January
of 2003.
　日本では、これまでに群馬交響楽団をはじめ、千葉交響楽団、東京シティフィル、神奈川フィル、名古屋フィル、大阪フィル、
オーケストラアンサンブル金沢、岡山フィル、瀬戸フィル、広島交響楽団、札幌交響楽団等を指揮している。またオペラの分野
では、「フィガロの結婚」「コシ・ファン・トゥッテ」「魔笛」「椿姫」「リゴレット」「アイ－ダ」「ラ・ボエ－ム」「蝶々夫
人」「トウーランドット」「カルメン」「こうもり」「御柱」等を、バレエの分野では「白鳥の湖」「くるみ割り人形」「ドン・
キホ－テ」等を指揮している。２００３年１月、ハイドンの「無人島」で新国立劇場に初登場した。


Okayama City Junior Orchestra
岡山市ジュニアオーケストラ

Okayama City Junior Orchestra was formed as the first youth orchestra managed by the local government in Japan
and it started with 165 members and 10 instructors.
岡山市ジュニアオーケストラは１９６５年１月、わが国初の自治体が運営する公立青少年オーケストラとして結成され、団員
１６５名、指導員１０名で発足しました。

Now, OJO constantly has about 100‐members from the 3rd grade to university students. The members are not only from
within Okayama City but also from neighboring areas where there are no orchestra activities. The members instructors
and the people involved work together to nurture rich sense of humanity in themselves through their music performance.
They are making ane effort to improve their performing technique through three-hour practice from 9:30 a.m. on
Sundays (Okayama City Okayama Central Elementary School) and additional intensive practice before each concert.
現在では小学校３年生から大学生まで常時約１００人の団員を擁し、岡山市在住の児童・生徒に限らずオーケストラ活動がない
近接地域からの参加もあり、団員・指導者および関係者が一丸となって、音楽を通じて、豊かな人間性の育成に努めています。
団員は毎月４回程度、日曜日の午前９時３０分から３時間の定期練習（岡山市立岡山中央小学校）とコンサート直前の強化練習を
通じて、演奏レベルの向上に努め、若々しくも本格的なクラシック音楽を広く県民・市民に提供し続けています。

OJO continues to provide the people in Okayama with their authentic classic music colored with its young members’
creativity. There will be a joint concert to be held in the
U．S．with San Jose Youth Symphony in the upcoming August,commemorating 60th anniversary of the soster-city
relationship between Okayama City and San Jose City.
今年、8月には岡山市・サンノゼ市姉妹都市締結60周年記念事業の一環として、サンノゼ・ユース・シンフォニーとの合同演奏会
（米国）を行います。

OJO has played and will play an important role to help promote the communication between Okayama and other cities
and build the bridges of international goodwill as a representative of Okayama City through its performance in their
regular concerts and requested concerts,appreciating the human connection .
定期演奏会の他、依頼演奏の活動を通して、人と人とのつながりを大切にし、岡山市の代表として他都市との交流や国際親善のた

ヤイヤ　サメット：指揮者

Maestro Samet was appointed first associate conductor of the San Jose Symphony Orchestra in 1994. In addition,he was
nominated Music Director and Conductor of the San Jose Youth Symphony, with whom he has toured Europe, South
America and the Far East.
指揮者ヤイヤ・サメット氏は1994年サンノゼ交響楽団の指揮者に指名されました。さらに、サンノゼ・ユース・シンフォニーの
音楽総監督に推挙されて、同楽団とともにヨーロッパ、南アメリカ、極東で演奏活動をおこないました。

Mr. Samet has conducted the famed Sinfonia Varsovia on tour in Germany, the Belgrade Philharmonic in Serbia,the
Saarlandisches Staatsorchester in Saarbrucken, Germany, the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra in China, and the Sarajevo
Philharmonic in Bosnia. In Israel, he conducted the Haifa Symphony, the Rishon Le-Zion Symphony Orchestra, and the
Israel Sinfonietta. In addition, he conducted the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra and the St.
Petersburg Glinka
Capella at Finland’s Tampere International Music Festival.
サメット氏は、ドイツではかの有名なシンフォニア・ヴァルソヴィア、セルビアではベオグラード・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団、
ドイツのザールブリュッケンではザールランド管弦楽団、中国では広州交響楽団、そしてボスニアではサラエボ・フィルハーモ
ニー交響楽団で指揮した実績があります。イスラエルではハイファ・シンフォニー、リション・ル・ジオン・シンフォニー・オー
ケストラ、イスラエル・シンフォニエッタの指揮者も務めました。さらにフィンランドのタンペレ国際音楽祭でもタンペレ・フィ
ルハーモニー管弦楽団とサンクトペテルブルグ・グリンカ・カペラを指揮しています。

He has led performances with renowned artists such as Pinchas Zukerman, Vadim Repin, David Shifrin, Han-Na Chang,
Helene Grimaud, Lara St. John, Raphael Wallfisch, Jon Nakamatsu, and Jon Kimura Parker. In addition to his professional
conducting accolades, Mr. Samet also served on the music faculty of the University of California Santa Cruz as principal
guest conductor for two decades
また、ピンチャス・ズッカーマン、ヴァディムラパン、デイヴィット・シフリン、ハンナ・チャン、エレーヌ・グリモー、ララ・
セント・ジョン、ラファエル・ウォルフィッシュ、ジョン・ナカマツ、そしてジョン・キムラ・パーカーら壮々たる顔ぶれのアー

San Jose Youth Symphony

The San Jose Youth Symphony (SJYS) is one of the oldest and finest youth orchestras on the West Coast of the U.S.
Founded over six decades ago as part of the former San Jose Symphony, SJYS has a rich tradition of musical performance
and education.
サンノゼ・ユース・シンフォニー（SJYS）はアメリカ西海岸でも長い伝統を誇る非常にレベルの高い青年交響楽団です。60年以上
前に結成された旧サンノゼ・シンフォニーを前身とし、結成以来、演奏活動と音楽教育において豊かな伝統を築いてきました。

The mission of SJYS is to give young people a foundation for life through orchestral music. We create programs that
assure young musicians achieve technical proficiency, musical knowledge and an emotional connection to music.
We strive to make each performance for the community uplifting, spirited and exciting.
SJYSの使命は、人生を通じてオーケストラ音楽を楽しむための基本を人々に伝えることです。若い音楽家達が自身の音楽的技能を
高め、知識を習得し、音楽と情緒的かかわりを持てるようなプログラムを作成しています。地域社会を明るく楽しく元気にするた
め、一つ一つの演奏を大切にしながら日々努力を重ねています。

The musicians of SJYS, ranging in age from 8 to 20, are chosen from more than 600 applicants through our annual　auditions.
The SJYS comprises 12 distinct performing ensembles: two full orchestras, a chamber orchestra, two flute choirs,
two string ensembles, a jazz ensemble, concert winds, saxophone, percussion and harp ensembles. Each orchestra and
ensemble performs a scheduled series of concerts every season. SJYS ensembles rehearse weekly from September through
early June. In addition, all musicians participate in a weeklong summer camp in late July or early August. Each
ensemble receives sectional coaching from professional musicians to supplement the work with SJYS artistic staff.
SJYSのメンバーは、累計600名以上の応募者の中から毎年おこなわれる選考会を通じて選ばれた８歳から20歳までの若者達です。
フルート2グループ、弦楽器アンサンブル2グループ、ジャズ・アンサンブル、そしてコンサート・ウィンズ、サキソフォン、パー
カッション、ハープの各アンサンブルの12の個別グループで構成されており、各グループは季節ごとに演奏会を開催しています。
グループ練習は9月から6月初旬まで毎週おこないますが、加えて７月下旬から８月初旬の間に一週間連続の全体練習もおこないま
す。SJYS専任芸術講師に加え、各グループはプロの音楽家の指導も受けています。

The Philharmonic Orchestra is the premier ensemble of SJYS, led by Music Director and Conductor, Yair Samet, former
Associate Conductor of the San Jose Symphony.
フィルハーモニック・オーケストラはSJYSの精鋭グループで、かつてのサンノゼ・シンフォニー準音楽監督ヤイヤ・サメット氏が
音楽総監督を務めています。

The Philharmonic Orchestra has collaborated with both local and international leading arts groups, including the San
Jose Symphony, the Asian Youth Orchestra, the Ireland National Youth Orchestra, the Okayama Youth Orchestra, San Jose
Taiko, Firebird Youth Chinese Orchestra, Mariachi Cobre, San Jose Children’s Musical Theatre, the Latin Jazz Ensemble
from San Jose State University, and the Los Gatos Ballet.
フィルハーモニック・オーケストラは、サンノゼ・シンフォニー、アジア・ユース・オーケストラ、アイルランド・ナショナル・
ユース・オーケストラ、岡山・ユース・オーケストラ、サンノゼ太鼓、火鳳青年國楽団、マリアッチ・コブレ、サンノゼ・こども
